Do as the Neighbors Do:The Impact of Social Networks on Immigrant Employment

چکیده
This paper examines the effect of social networks on the labor market outcomes of recent immigrants using new measures of the quality of immigrant networks. The empirical analysis provides robust evidence that immigrants who are members of ethnic enclaves are much more likely to be employed, and much more likely to be employed in the same firm as their geographic neighbors, than are other immigrants.
